Although Mori was rejected by his team members he continued with the traversal mission. Then the team was separated by an accident during their tracking at Eboshi mountain. Mori was trapped with an injured Niimi in a snow cave below Mount Eboshi's ridge line. Supplies are running out and Mori has to choose between leaving Niimi to find rescue or to stay beside a needy Niimi. He knew staying would be signing his own death warrant. Was it worth dying together with a selfish ungrateful soul?
