坐忘梦蝶
This book is rather peculiar. So many twisted individuals in the story. A very messed up family and a stranger got killed in their twisted pursuit of forbidden romances and distorted perception on love. The story started with a corpse found in the home of a wealthy family during a new year reunion dinner. The mysterious deceased man is a very handsome male and he was found with multiple injuries, drug overdosage and also exposure to poison. Everyone declared not knowing who the dead guy is despite no sign of break-ins found within the surrounding.
On the day of the crime, there are four siblings and their mother in that house with a young butler. It is routine for them to gather especially during festive seasons. The second sister is in love with her third brother who is also her twin. But the third brother is in love with his eldest brother. Lastly the fourth brother, the youngest in the family is in turn in love with his second sister. What a fine mess and great recipe for disaster which did end with someone's death. I guess their desires for each other runs too deep and they could no longer hold back hence the eruption and the tragedy.
Actually I am not sure what and how I felt about this book. The story is odd but I am not saying it is a bad thing. Just that what happened especially at the end of the book.. like that weird cat and that uhmmm non-organic talking matter is just too way out of this world for me to fully take in. Despite that in view of the title of this book, perhaps the author just wanted to depict a dreamscape world to blur the line between reality and dream. Overall I did find the book pretty entertaining in an unusual way.
